About Us

From the Hamptons to New York City, and beyond, Bakes and Company is a kitchen and interior design company AND a custom cabinet manufacturing company. We’re based in the Hamptons, Long Island, NY and from our offices ( and coming this early fall- NEW SHOWROOM)  in Sag Harbor, we have been designing kitchens, bathrooms, libraries and pantries in beautiful homes and apartments for over  six years. To  give just a flavour of our range of capabilities, we’ve recently completed projects in a number of prestigious properties in New York City and Greenwich CT, a ski chalet in Stratton-Vermont, a VERY large house in the Bay colony area of Naples- Florida, various new jersey locations ( short Hills and Bernardsville ), and as we spread the word futher afield, we’re appraising projects in la Jolla-California and central San Fransisco.

Robert Bakes, the Company president, now resident in the USA for over nine years, previously owned and operated a kitchen design studio in Chelsea in central London, and has developed a wide ranging knowledge of all aspects of the design process, as well as a keen eye for detail.

At Bakes and Company we work with architects and homeowners alike, and  take a project from initial concept right through the kitchen design, the cabinet manufacture and the final installation. We do not outsource our kitchen cabinets, we manufacture our own custom product.

Bakes and Company is a true ‘ custom’ cabinet company,  the product we design and build is entirely tailored to the individual project for which we are designing. We have NO stock sizes; NO stock cabinets; we design the cabinets for the space, for the client, every time. That’s true custom cabinetry.

The factory, just outside Detroit, MI, is a testament to hand crafted artistry working in harmony with modern manufacturing. We have an experienced team of carpenters and finishers, dedicated to producing the finest product, one they can be proud of and one that our clients can enjoy for many years to come.
